IRIS *SPOILERS* for ending!!
Ok now that I am calmed down a little from all of the emotions that attacked me at the end of IRIS I’ve come to the conclusion that the ending is a load of crap. I mean seriously, what the hell? This poor guy goes through over 2 years of horribleness thinking the love of his life is dead, betrayed by his best friend, abandoned by his network, and then going through everything he had to go through when he came back to Korea for revenge. He has his emotions pulled all over the place and he has to watch a lot of good people die, not to mention his best friend dying in his arms. He finally gets away from it all and he has Seung Hee back and he goes to get a ring and he’s gonna propose. They were gonna have this wonderful stress free life with 5 kids and what happens in the last minute of the damn drama, he gets frickin’ shot in the head as he’s coming back with the ring.
Now I get that there’s going to be a second season and they needed a cliffhanger or something to progress the plot for the next season. But seriously killing Hyun Joon was so totally not the answer people. I’m sorry for ranting a little bit but oh my gosh the ending just killed me. And it was such a good drama too. I love action dramas and I don’t even mind when main characters die cause it’s so different from the dramas I’m used to that I enjoy it but not for this one.
So I’m choosing to pretend that the last 2 minutes didn’t happen and that they live happily ever after……..well until the next season comes out and my illusion is crushed into oblivion. Who knows maybe he survives (this is my last shread of hope and no matter how small a chance there is of that I will hold onto it until his death is confirmed in season 2).
Sidenote: It is still a really really good drama and I loved it!!
